Over the years I have wondered how can the British Wedding industry offer more sustainability? I’ve become increasingly aware that the romance of the wedding industry masks its wasteful nature… The amount of disposable ‘tat’ that is wheeled into every wedding and thrown out at the end, most of which is poor quality and breaks before its even made it through the day. Not to mention the quantity of glitter and single-use plastic.
I love the wedding industry, but How can any of us advocate for an industry that day in, day out generates an inordinate amount of waste, directly contributing to the degradation of our planet?
So how can the British Wedding industry offer more sustainability?
Well to start they can help couples with eco-friendly products as well as sustainable business models.
As couples demand more from venues, venues need to create new strategies that attract eco-conscious customers.
